Personality & Traits

General Overview Driven. Does things off the book and occasionally in his own way. Growing up, Mak survived on the streets on Vashti scrouching, scouting for resources, and relying on his instincts. It wasn’t until meeting Hunter Devon, his moral compass slowly formed. Joining the Fenris Rangers young became the best thing for him as it instilled a code of honor and loyalty.

Bit rough around the edges. Determined by default.
Psychological Profile Due to his family leaving Trill under unusual circumstance, Mak discovered that the real reason was because of what happened in trill during 2370. It was political. Mak distrusted the Trill joining process due to the circumstance surrounding it. When he turned twenty, he did both. Before entering Starfleet Academy, he applied to be joined with a new symbiot. Despite his turbulent history on Vashti in the Qiris sector, the Trill Symbiosim rejected his application due to his family history of being “unruly”. He couldn’t be joined for as long as he believes that the Trill Symbiosim doesn’t have their people’s needs.
Strengths & Weaknesses Driven. Determined. Survival instincts. Frontier Experience. Not by the book. Unique moral compass. Free spirit. Some Memory recall

Rough around the edges. Distrust of those in command except for those he trusts. Temper. Stubborn.
Ambitions To free those unfairly chained and forced to do the things they don’t want to. To navigate the storm to guide his friends to safe harbour. To fight for what’s right and stop those who wronged the people of the galaxy. To follow the creed of both Fenris Rangers and Starfleet.
Hobbies & Interests Other than flying, Archeology and Xeno-Archeology. Uncovering interesting artifacts and relics of the past, both Human colonies and alien civilizations. Novice linguist. Studied and knows several dead languages including Latin and ancient Romulan.

He occasionally programed the holodeck for an excuse to fly starfighters because he missed flying the Fenris Ranger ship. He also practises combat training and other exercises in the holodeck.

Personal History He never knew his parents or the Trill. The Trill Symbiosim ostraziced his family from their homeland. When he was born, his Uncle took care of him on Vashti in 2387 when his family decided to tour the Hobus sector. They navigated the edge when a supernova formed and took out the whole system. Mak never knew as his uncle quietly raised him on Vashti. Unfortunately, they lived in the wild suburbs controlled by none other than the enigmatic warlord, Pax Vashti.

At first, Pax offered friendship and attempted to draw Mak’s uncle into a false sense of serenity. His uncle paid Pax to live in his territory. Eventually, five years took its toll as Pax drove his uncle to an unpayable debt. He offered him two choices; Pay up or die. His uncle couldn’t pay, so Pax forced him to give up Mak and allowed him to leave with his dignity intact.

Born in the wilds of Vashti in Qiris Sector, Mak survived on nothing but his wits and instincts. Nothing came easy for him. Abandoned by his own caretaker, an uncle Pax Vashti forced offworld, Mak lived in the streets scouting for food and supplies for an enigmatic warlord that promised him a home and food. Growing up in the streets, Mak’s worldview shifted as he learned to survive by stealing. Pax taught him that peace doesn’t come easy unless he does something about it. Mak “scouted” for the warlord, which down the road of his life Scout became his human nickname. His moral compass gradually took shape when he met his first Fenris Ranger, Hunter Devon.

Formerly Starfleet, Hunter Devon took him under her charge and showed him the easy way out of owing the warlord. From there, Mak looked up to Devon as his new mother figure as they worked together to survive the wilds of Vashti. He helped her scout and navigate through the wilds. Still rough around the edges, Mak learned under Devon and became a Fenris Ranger. For the next ten years, he scouted along Qiris sector righting the wrongs and helped the people in need. During that time, he learned how to fight in the stars inside a Fenris Ranger fighter.

Eventually after ten years of being a Fenris Ranger, Devon wrote his letter to Starfleet asking them to accept Mak to become an officer. They accepted and Mak spent his turbulent four years of being a Starfleet cadet. During that time, he made friends and enemies. When news hit them that Mak was a Ranger, it made them distrust him. Mak had to break through societal norms to prove himself that he belonged. It endeared him to his peers.

Upon graduating in 2411, her served on two starfleet vessels as their pilot. First was the USS Timbuktu for six years as a shuttle pilot before transferring to another vessel as her helm officer. In 2424, he applied to join the new ship as her new chief of helm. The USS Vanguard.

Professional History Before he entered Starfleet Academy, Mak had been fighting since he could hold a phaser. At the age of 14, Hunter Devon trained him for several months as a recruit. She mentored him, sheltered him from danger until he could handle himself and molded him. They travelled throughout the Qiris sector and beyond to scout, recon and render aid. As he turned 16, Devon started him early on the basics of starfighting. She trained him to fly a Fenris Ranger ship. For the next four years, they flew side by side across the quadrant on reconnaissance, humanitarian relief and search and rescue missions.

At the age of 20, Mak became interested in joining Starfleet. Devon recommended him for Starfleet admission. The instructors approved him and Mak applied to become a flight operations officer. For four years, he studied flight, its operations and other subjects and courses. He also studied archeology as a side interest. When he graduated, he applied to join the USS Timbuktu as her pilot.

Her served two ships; the USS Timbuktu for six years and the USS Sukothai for six years. He held the rank of ensign for a total of six years as a shuttle pilot and helm officer onboard the Timbuktu. They patrolled the Beta and Alpha quadrant. However, not much of interest happened during his mission.

The USS Sukothai, however, offered him a more engaging mission. Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, he was assigned as CONN. Mostly on the bridge, he navigated the cosmos. On his off duty, he programed the holodeck for Starfighting missions using not only the Fenris Ranger fighters, but other Starfleet fighters. While he enjoyed the benefits of being a conn officer, he preferred the engaging momentum of starfighting.

In Stardate 2424, Starfleet assigned him a new ship as her new chief of flight operations. The USS Vanguard.
